Prerequisites:
Windows Version: Windows 7 or higher, including Windows 10.
TackTracker is written for Microsoft's .NET Framework 4.0. This may already be installed on your PC. If it is not, you may install it by downloading the .NET 4.0 Client Profile redistributable from the Microsoft web site.
Mac OS Version: macOS 10.9 or later.
Windows Installation:
Step 1: Download and Run
Download TackTrackerInstall.msi from http://tacktracker.com/web/download
Double click to run it.
You may need to respond to prompts from your anti-virus software - especially if it does not know about TackTracker.
To ensure your safety, the TackTracker installer is signed with a code signing certificate from Comodo. The certificate is entitled "The Trustee for the TackTracker Unit Trust".
Step 2: License Agreement
Read and accept the license agreement. If you don't accept the license agreement, do not install the software. If you have questions or issues, please contact the author at support@tacktracker.com.
You must choose "I Agree" if you wish to continue. The Next button will then appear and TackTracker Installation will proceed.
Step 3: Run TackTracker
When installation is complete, you can run TackTracker either by double-clicking on a TackTracker icon on your desktop - or using the programs menu:
Start -> All Programs -> TackTracker.
A splash screen will appear, showing that you are licensed for the "Free Race Viewer".
Step 4: USB Driver
If you wish to connect a QStarz BT-Q1000X or XT GPS via USB cable, you will need to install the USB driver. This may also be download from http://tacktracker.com/web/download. Please follow the instructions on the site.
Mac OS Installation:
Step 1: Download and Mount
Download TackTrackerInstall.dmg from http://tacktracker.com/web/download
Double click to mount it.
Step 2: Drag TackTracker to your Applications Folder
You may drag directly into the Applications link beside the TackTracker icon, or drag TackTracker to your preferred install location.
Step 3: USB Driver
If you wish to attach a QStarz logger or similar, a USB CDC driver may need to be installed on your mac. Please refer to the Mac release notes at http://tacktracker.com/web/download/release_notes_mac for more information.
