When you select a track in the Loaded Tracks area in the Track Loader, you will see all matching races listed. Tracks are matched to a race based on two criteria:
1. The track start time must precede the race start
2. The track end time must occur after the race start
Sometimes you need to load a track that does not meet the first criteria, and TackTracker does not automatically match it to your desired race.
This can happen when a sailor forgets to turn on their GPS until after the race has started. To avoid this, please encourage all sailors to switch on their GPS before leaving shore.
Back-Dating the Track
To recover from this situation, you can modify the track to back-date the first track point to before the event start. To do this:
1. Select the track in the Track Loader's Loaded Tracks table. The track will be displayed.
2. Click the Edit button in the Track Loader. The Identify Track dialog will display:
3. Note the start time for the track. If this time is a short time after your race's start time, you can backdate the track by clicking the Backdate button. Each time you click Backdate, the start time will decrement by 5 minutes.
4. Save your changes by clicking Save
